Executive Brain Day Academy

A Small Morning Academic Program for Middle School Students Who Need a Different Path

Executive Brain Day Academy is an in-person academic coaching program for students in grades 6-8 who need a more personalized, structured, and supportive learning environment.

The program is designed for students who are capable but struggling in a traditional school setting because of academic gaps, attention challenges, weak executive function skills, or poor fit with the pace of a regular classroom.

Our goal is simple:

Give parents relief, give students structure, and help each child make real academic progress while becoming more independent.

Who This Program Is For

This program is for students in grades 6-8 who:

  • Are behind in math, reading, writing, or core academic skills
  • Need a calmer and smaller learning environment
  • Struggle with planning, organization, task initiation, or follow-through
  • Need academic coaching, not just tutoring
  • Can work independently for short periods of time
  • Benefit from direct instruction in small doses
  • Need help rebuilding confidence and academic habits
  • May be using Step Up / PEP funds for a parent-directed education plan

Program Schedule

  • Days: Monday through Thursday
  • Time: 9:30 AM-12:00 PM
  • Location: 18727 West Dixie Highway, Aventura, FL
  • Semester Tuition: $9,500
  • Step Up PEP and FS-UA scholarships are available

The program is intentionally small so each student can receive structure, direct support, and an individualized academic plan.

What Students Receive

Each student receives an individualized academic plan based on current skill level, grade-level goals, and executive function needs.

The program may include:

  • Math instruction and practice
  • ELA and reading comprehension
  • Writing Clinic
  • Science instruction and weekly labs
  • Social studies
  • Study skills training
  • Executive function coaching
  • Curriculum support
  • Progress monitoring
  • Monthly parent updates

Curriculum Approach

For 6th- and 7th-grade students, we generally use Time4Learning as the curriculum, along with direct instruction, written work, extra practice, and teacher-created materials.

For 8th-grade students, we may use FLVS Flex selectively when it helps with high school transition, course records, placement, or credit documentation.

The curriculum provides the path.

Executive Brain Academy provides the teaching, pacing, support, accountability, and progress monitoring.

Writing Clinic & Science Lab

Writing is a core part of the program. Students learn how to write stronger sentences, paragraphs, summaries, responses, and essays.

Science will not only be online. Students participate in a weekly hands-on science block where they learn to observe, test, record data, and write lab conclusions.

What This Program is Not

Executive Brain Day Academy is not a full private school, a drop-in program, a social group, a behavior intervention program, or 2.5 hours of private tutoring each day.

It is a structured academic coaching program for students who need a serious plan, a calm setting, and consistent academic support.

Application Process

Because the program is intentionally small, enrollment is by fit.

The process includes:

  1. Parent intake call
  2. Review of academic history
  3. Student assessment
  4. Learning plan recommendation
  5. Parent agreement
  6. Two-week placement and fit period
